Children's Ministries Missions
2009 Missions Project
The Provincial Children’s Ministries Lead Team continues to identify that mission is an important focus. We want to continue to engage the children in missions. We want to “help kids in ‘Newfoundland’ get involved in making a difference in their world. They can be a part of investing in the lives of orphans, building homes on an empty field in Africa, feeding the hungry and more.” In seeing the positive impact that the Senegal missions project has had on our children and leaders in this province, as well as, abroad we have decided to continue the partnership with MAK and the PAOC in the Senegal project. This will be our missions focus provincially for 2009!
“There are hundreds of children who live on the streets in Dakar. They are undernourished, uncared for and have often been abandoned by their parents to lead a life of street begging. They do not attend a traditional school and have serious health and hygiene needs. For the past eight years our PAOC missionaries have been providing health care, first aid and a daily feeding program that feeds 80 – 100 kids five days a week at a centre we have in the city. We have also offered recreation, art workshops, health teaching, help with reading, times of singing and storytelling. These children will walk on streets without shoes. You can buy them sandals at $1.50 per pair… and let these street kids experience what Jesus’ love is really all about!” All monies raised for the Senegal Street Kids will go toward your church missions giving for 2009! All monies must be sent to the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador Head Office stating Senegal Street Kids project.
