YOUTH MISSIONS
Component 1: Giving
Our students have raised over $1, 006,753.63 in support of Youth Missions since its inception in 1968. For 2008, our Youth Missions dollars are being directed to two projects. First of all, we are
supporting the Bradbury’s in Senegal, Africa. The Bradbury’s are in their second year at Dakar Academy (DA), a K-12 boarding school for Missionary children. The school provides an education for students from 20 countries whose parents are serving as missionaries in 9 countries in West Africa. Paul is the Computer Technician and Paula is the Librarian. They also assist with school projects such as village outreach and outreaches at a baby orphanage and a local high school. Sheila, Allan and Erin are students at D A. As part of the PAOC team in Senegal, the Bradbury’s also participate in other ministries such as helping with short term teams and Talibee Ministries. Secondly, YC is going to Malawi, Africa. Twelve teams (eight from NL) will be making their way to the capital city Lilongwe for 2 1/2 weeks, joining with our Malawian friends to help facilitate an unprecedented outreach event. Our goal for this year is $25,000, $15,000 of which is to support the ministry of the Bradbury’s in Senegal and $10,000 to support the YC Malawi event.
