Women's Ministries Conference '09 Report

The Women’s Ministries Conference that took place on September 18th - 20th, 2009 was once again a great success. The theme ‘Sharing the Journey’ was beautifully shared through our various speakers and workshop leaders. Evangelist Marie Miller once again challenged our ladies to cross the generations and work together in the ministry God has called us to do. Pastor Catherine Snow, our Provincial Director, shared in the Sunday morning service that closed off the conference with a powerful message challenging our ladies in ‘Sharing the Journey that we might inspire others to keep on ... we need each other and others need us.’

There were approximately 760 ladies registered at the Conference and the Saturday night Missionary Care Fund offering that was taken totaled at $8,465.75. We had opportunity to hear from our first Women’s Ministries Missions Team that went to Turkana in April. It was inspiring to hear of what God is doing in Turkana and that we as Women’s Ministries groups have a part as we give to this great endeavor. The Penny Offerama was indeed a reason to celebrate as we seen the 2008 giving rise above our 2007 giving. The total penny giving for 2008 was: $103,723.45, this was an increase of $13,399.55 from 2007. We give God thanks and praise for the commitment of our Women’s Ministries ladies as they give so sacrificially each year.

Looking forward to our 2010 Conference as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary with special Speaker Liz Curtis Higgs. Make arrangements to join us in September 2010.
